We are very happy to announce that at a ceremony on 11 September, Sister Ruth Montrichard SJC, WCCM Coordinator for the Caribbean (a Guiding Board member) and Chair of Servol (an NGO working with at risk children, young people and communities) received the Benemerenti Medal awarded by Pope Francis. This award is given for long and exceptional service to the Church.
Sister Ruth: ” I feel honoured and humbled in accepting this award. So many people have supported me and shared in my work at Servol and in Christian Meditation that this also belongs to them. I am grateful to God for all I have received, very specially the gift of Meditation. I can only say Thank you and Magnificate “
It was presented (because of Covid restrictions) at a private ceremony at Archbishop’s House, in Trinidad by Papel Nuncio Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachuckwu. Also present were Archbishop Jason Gordon and Fr. Martin Sirju. Vicar General.
