So let us start September with Belgium’s National Coordinator since 2002, Jose Pype, speaking to us about “Continuous Conversion and the Night of the Spirit: Meditation, a way through the night”.
José Pype is also ABP Bonnevaux’s President, and just as important, a Novice with WCCM Oblates. He practiced meditation since the early 90’s. “It started with a crisis and sometimes it is still a crisis, but as Father John said, it is the continuous expanding of the Spirit.
We are so conditioned. The crisis was very painful but also a source of joy to detach from all this conditioning so that love can flow freely in us. We evolved from the homo incurvatus (self-conscious) to the homo erectus (other centeredness). That can be very painful. But freedom and sensitivity for the Spirit is a greater joy than the pain of detachment. Meditation is a leap of faith. Every time we meditate, we leave our known world for an unknown, but in the trust we have that God wants only good things for his children.”
On September 6, 2021, Monday, Benedict’s Well from 9am BST/UK, let us learn from Jose as he expounds on his thoughts.
