We held the virtual Retreat HOSPITALITY AS AN ADVENTURE OF DIVINE LOVE on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 August. The retreat was prepared by Elba Rodríguez, N.C and O.C. from Colombia, and the one who reports, Marina Müller, O.C. from Argentina.
25 people from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico, Paraguay, Perú and Venezuela participated, mostly Oblates from the WCCM and some meditators.
In addition to the 4 meditations, the morning and midday prayers and the contemplative mass celebrated by Fr. Patricio Lynch, whose homily was a real lesson, there were three moments of bodily activity by Hernán González Fredes from Chile, Juana Paez from Argentina and Mary Meyer from Paraguay.
Three talks were offered: Recibiendo al huésped – Welcoming the guest, by Mark Ball (C. WCCM Kent, Oblate of England), Hospitalidad como sendero – Hospitality as a path, by Josefa Vivas (O.C. Venezuela and Mexico) and Hopitalidad como una Aventura del amor divino – Hospitality as an adventure of divine love, by Maria and Albert Zakharov (Ukrainian Oblates). Several members of the Latin American Oblate Way participated as readers during the retreat. There were two moments of sharing the resonances of the retreat in each participant.
The experience of the Retreat was one of contemplative admiration and gratitude for the deepening of the theme of hospitality and for the personal and community invitation to practice hospitality permanently, with attention directed towards the inner Guest, Jesus, as well as towards each person we meet or live with.
Glory be to God!
