Becoming familiar with the writings of John Main, OSB, and Laurence\nFreeman, OSB, is also central to the path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experience\nof community characterizes the Oblate life.&nbsp;\nFirst, we experience how the practice of meditation creates\ncommunity.&nbsp; Secondly, Oblates experience\na sense of calling towards their monastically-inspired\ncommunity-within-community, sharing mutual support, encouragement and spiritual\nfriendship with others on the Oblate path. Thirdly, Oblates give back to WCCM\nby serving its mission to teach Christian Meditation in the spirit of unity of\nall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oblation\nwithin WCCM is a commitment to ever-deepening discernment of life in Christ &#8212;\nthrough the practice of Christian Meditation as taught by John Main, OSB, and\nguided by the Benedictine wisdom tradition. The Oblate path is not highly\nprogrammatic, but an enhancement of the contemplative and creative rhythms\nwhich meditation fosters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please find further information about the Oblate Path Booklet can be found here:  <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/oblates.wccm.org\/v2019\/readings-and-resources\/the-oblate-path\/\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/oblates.wccm.org\/v2019\/readings-and-resources\/the-oblate-path\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Steps to Oblation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#47423a\" class=\"has-text-color has-background has-drop-cap has-custom-background-color\">1 Be committed as a twice-daily Christian meditator <strong>as taught by John Main<\/strong>. Consider if you discern the personal transformation begun by this practice, and a call to deepening that process through the Benedictine wisdom tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"color:#47423a\" class=\"has-text-color has-background has-drop-cap has-custom-background-color\">2 Speak to any WCCM Oblates that you know, and visit a WCCM Oblate cell meeting if there is one nearby.
