Movements on the earth\u2019s crust resulted in this country having a variety of stones like sandstones and slates, schist and marble.&nbsp; All these became primary materials for many buildings that are still standing since its early history. And of course, stone and slate were popular for letter carving house names, memorials and headstones, poetry and quotation, among others<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A letter-carver working on stone is an artist who is very precise in cutting and shaping the stone. He certainly needs concentration to remain focused on his task. This reminds me of the analogy with a watchmaker Father John Main made for practitioners of Christian Meditation.
